It is important to open up possibilities with your tools, not limit them. The swiveling tip tool holder allows an infinite range of cutting motion to reach any shape vessel imaginable.
Some turners use a dedicated, stationary cutter boring bar that will reach most traditional shapes but will have limitations to creativity. There will be some shapes that it will not reach and drive you crazy.
The ability to swivel the cutter is necessary to use the Carbide Cutter correctly and take advantage of all three cutting techniques available with the Carbide Cutter.
